About The Department :

 
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1991-92 with an intake of 60 students. At present the intake is 120 students from 2004. For quality world-class education to be delivered successfully, it is absolutely essential that the efforts of the Faculty and students be backed up by proper infrastructure.  No stone has been left unturned in the quest to provide infrastructure and facilities that are of the highest standards or comparable to the best anywhere. Improvement and upgradation of the infrastructure is continuous on going process in the department. The strength of any educational program can be measured by the quality of its Faculty. In the department all the faculty members are highly qualified, competent and hand picked for their long teaching, industrial and research experience.

 

Faculty:
For the faculty in the department of ECE, teaching is more of a passion than profession. We not only create well-educated students, but they also acquire awareness about the changing world scenario in the field of electronics and communication engineering. The department is headed by Dr. S V Raghavan, who has spent all the years of his career in the field of industry and education.  
 
 

Facilities:
All laboratories are modernized and well equipped with the total built up area of about 1500 sq.mt. A variety of trainer kits are provided in all the laboratories to conduct experiments. Well-qualified and experienced instructors are also appointed to train the students in the laboratory.

Association:

  

The association of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, is a forum where students are encouraged to the maximum to exhibit talents in co-curricular activities and activities like Debate, Group Discussion, Mock interviews, Technical Quiz, and Test etc., at regular intervals. By this the students gain  confidence to face interviews in the future.

Eminent people in their field of specialization are invited to deliver guest lectures regularly. We also publish a Newsletter Genesis two issues  a semester which encourages students to write technical articles & more.

ECE Department Association (PEACE) is conducting National Level Technical Symposium called "CYNOSURE" various students from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, AP, Kerala etc. are attending this symposium.
